Varadero

The Varadero area of Cuba is exclusively reserved for foreign tourists which account for Cuba’s number one industry. The area is very well organized and is off limits to most Cubans. It is said that the toll booths on the highway into Varadero are actually border stations to stop Cubans from coming into Varadero but I haven’t seen any evidence of that. The area consists of a peninsula where the original town begins then the tip of that peninsula and to the east begin the many all inclusive resorts such as the Tryp Peninsula hotel resort where we stayed.
