With only about 1800 permanent residents, Tofino’s population increases almost tenfold during the summer. Tofino is on the West Coast of Vancouver Island, and is therefore as far West as you can go in Canada. Tofino is famous for outdoor sports such as surfing, hiking, whale watching, fishing, and many other activities. Tofino was named after a Spanish admiral in 1792.
