The capital city of Salta province in Argentina, Salta has a population of about 600,000 and is also located at a high altitude of about 1100 meters. Salta is famous because it has kept it’s old colonial architecture and charm. Salta was established in 1582 as a stopping point between Lima and Buenos Aires, and went through lots of ups and downs during the years until early 20th century with the arrival of lots of European and Arab immigrants who helped the city flourish since then.
