Salt Flats

The Salt flats (Salinas Grandes) is a large salt desert located in Argentina. Huge salt flats are formed as the rain water from the surrounding mountains flow down into these large flat areas, bringing with them the salts from the mountains, then evaporating leaving the salt in its place. This process was repeated over and over again for thousands of years, forming what we see today as the salt flats or salt deserts, or Salinas Grandes. Salt Flats photos are usually very interesting because the lack of visual reference in the photos allows photographers to remove the perspectives from the photos therefore creating interesting effects.
