Connecting Purmamarca and Susques in Jujuy province and then continuing on to the Chilean border, and one of the highest roads in the world, Route 52 is also one of the most beautiful drives I have ever been on. The road is in excellent condition and traverses several mountains and peaks, the highest being 4175 meters above sea level. Route 52 also passes through the salt flats (Salinas Grandes) which are worth going to by themselves.
