One of the most beautiful places on earth, New Zealand has been isolated from the rest of the world for millions of years, this has resulted in a truly unique and exciting eco-system that is so fascinating to see. Unfortunately, over the last century, man has again destroyed much of this uniqueness of New Zealand by introducing alien species of plants, animals, and insects. One of the biggest victims of this change has been the Kiwi bird, New Zealand’s symbol, and which most Kiwis have never seen in the wild. New Zealand photos always show Kiwi birds and even on the crest, this bird an be seen.
New Zealand is also unique in that it is on top of one of the thinnest layers of crust on earth, which means more visible and active volcanic activities, such as those seen in Rotorua and other areas.
