Right in the heart of Luxor, The Luxor Temple (معبد الأقصر) has a great history, it was a pharaonic temple, it was a church, and most recently, it was a mosque. Now, it’s a museum of the past, and what a museum. Luxor Temple was built in 1400 BC and was part of Thebes which was the capital of ancient Egypt at the time. The temple was buried over the millennia as people settled above it, and was finally dug out in 1884.
