Kenya is officially known as the Republic of Kenya. Kenya has a population of about 44 million people who live on about 580,000 square kilometer. Being on the equator, Kenya’s weather is mostly the same all year round, with beautiful natural settings, and comfortable temperatures. The biggest ethnic group in Kenya is the Kikuyu at 22% of the population, followed by the Luhya at 14%.
Kenya was a British colony until 1963, and officially became a country in 1964. The official languages of Kenya are Swahili and English, which makes it easy to communicate and travel within Kenya. Because of it’s dependance on tourism, you can find many Kenya photos on the web and in publications as people visit there.
I couldn’t believe how beautiful it is to go on a safari in Kenya. I went to Nairobi, never really had a chance to get out of the capital, but had enough fun at the Nairobi National Park. It was a strange feeling when I first saw a Lion sitting there in the wilderness, a shiver went through my body as I felt the beast’s strength, and my own weakness in this great outdoors. Anyway, enough rambling, here are the Kenya photos.
