Most Egyptians don’t know how to read Hieroglyphics, modern Egyptians speak Arabic. Hieroglyphics were lost thousands of years ago, and, until 1799 could not be decoded, that was when the Rosetta stone was discovered and historians managed to decipher the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics. from then on, it has been amazing to look at these walls and imagine the effort that went into them, and the stories they are telling.
