Gommateshvara Bahubali

The statue of Gommateshvara Bahubali at Śravaṇa Beḷgoḷa is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Jainism which is an Indian religion that preaches non-violence towards all living beings.

The statue of Gommateshvara Bahubali is of the second of the hundred sons of the first Tirthankara, Rishabha and king of Podanpur. Gommateshvara Bahubali was built in the 10th century AD. Today, Hundreds of thousands of pilgrims, devotees and tourists from all over the world Congregate to the statue once in 12 years for an event known as Mahamastakabhisheka.
