The capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires is a true metropolis. Buenos Aires has a population of just under three million people in the actual municipal area, but about 12 million in the metro area. Known as the Paris of South America, Buenos Aires is also famous for it’s architecture, which is an amazing mix of Colonia, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, and French Bourbon style architecture. Buenos Aires got its name when it was founded on a hill over-looking an older castle area that had a foul smell, the new hill had “good air” which is what the city was ultimately named after a couple of iterations.
