Bayt Al-Suhaymi

This house, named Bayt Al-Suhaymi (بيت السهيمى) was recently restored to show the the style of old Islamic architecture and homes. Bayt Al-Suhaymi was built in 1648 by Abdel Wahab el Tablawy and was then purchased in 1796 by Sheikh Ahmed Al-Suhaymi, who extended it by integrating several of the adjacent houses. It is located in the middle of Khan El Khalili, one of the oldest parts of Cairo. Bayt Al-Suhaymi is a great place to visit in Cairo as it is the perfect example of Islamic and Ottoman style architecture.
