By far the best and cheapest place to shop for souvenirs in China. If you are planning to shop for souvenirs, wait until you get to Xian, the choices are much more and the prices much better, with better ability to negotiate, this is especially true if you want to buy a miniature terracotta warrior because Xian is where they are made.
Xian is home to many Muslims in China, and has a large mosque to show for it. what is is more famous for however, and the reason most visitors go to Xian, is to see the terracotta warriors.
Hundreds of Souvenir vendors crowd the street and great deals can be made.
