The 17 Mile Drive - California - USA
Although beautiful by many other standards and compared to other places, I personally thought the 17 mile drive is a tourist trap and is not worth paying to enter, and that driving for 30 minutes past it will give you much better scenery for no entry fees and a much more natural setting. the 17 mile drive is set around a golf course and a very expensive neighbourhood and gave me the impression that it is a highly developed over priced tourist area rather than a beautiful natural setting. In summary, my opinion is that unless you there to spend an obscene amount of money to play golf, you should just drive South and save your money. See the Big Sur photos to see what lies 30 minutes or so South of this.
