Oregon Caves

The Oregon Caves were discovered in 1874, but became a national monument in 1909. The Oregon caves are at around 4000 feet in altitude, and are around the same temperature all year round. The Oregon Caves are not open in the winter, mainly to let them recover from the onslaught of tourists that visit it during the rest of the year. A visit to the Oregon Caves is a good lesson in caves and geology.
