Photos of Nasr City and Heliopolis - Cairo - Egypt

 

Cairo is one of the rare cities of the world where you will see a top of the line Mercedes Benz   parked next to a cart with a severely undernourished and mis-treated donkey. In Cairo, there are very posh areas, and other areas that can only be described as slums. I will not show pictures of slums, because they are not fun to watch, but will show a few pictures from some of the other areas.

Buildings in down town Cairo have a very European style, they are mostly old, but give the down town area a special character.

Nasr City - 130613

Nasr City, the newest area in Cairo, mostly consists of newly built condominiums, and high rises to accommodate the increase in population is Egypt. (Above and below)

Dokki - 1679   Mohandeseen - 1579

Dokki and Mohandeseen, are modern but old, and therefore most buildings are older than those you would find in Nasr City.
