The capital city of Tibet, Lhasa is the only major airport in the province, and even that is 90 minutes drive from the city, as well as open only during daylight. One word of warning about this airport however is that you should dress very warmly when flying out of Lhasa airport, there is no heating there, and if you are unlucky enough to have a delayed flight you can end up in a deep freezer (and I mean it's cold) for 6 hours without the possibility of catching any type of sun rays because of the design of the building and their security precautions.
Going to Lhasa and Tibet really feels like one has gone back in time with the exception of a few giveaways such as monks talking on their mobile phones and internet cafe's all over Lhasa.
