Photos of El Alamein Commonwealth war graves - Northern Coast - Egypt
These graves were erected in honour of the Allied (This includes soldiers from any country or race who fought as part of the allied army) soldiers who died in the battle of Alamein, they still hold memorial service every year by the families of these soldiers.
It's sad to see all these tomb stones, with the names of the dead soldiers on them, you can see people from all over the place. When you think that each one of these was a walking human being who had his own character, life and family.
You can find more information about the commonwealth graves on the commonwealth graves commission website at
Although I would love to have taken photos of all the grave sites, there are far too many and I have never had the time to take and process all the graves.
I do have a few randomly taken shots though, if you would like to know if I have a photo of the grave of someone you are looking for, please go to my search site and enter the LAST name of the person you are looking to, if you don't get any results, then unfortunately I don't have the photo.
If you are looking for a Canadian soldier, you may be able to find the photos you are looking for at the maple leaf legacy project at http://www.mapleleaflegacy.org where you will be able to search by name for the person you are looking.
If you have any information on any other source on the web that can help others, please email me and I will post it here.
