Photos from the East coast - South Island - New Zealand

 

Not entirely on the East coast, some of the photos on this page were actually taken on the way from the West to the East Coast. As seen, many attractions can be stopped at while driving on or between coasts in New Zealand. A major annoyance while in New Zealand are the sand flies, these tiny flies can be found around most bush where there is shade and moisture, they will bite and leave a really bad itch for a few days. Some of the photos below, particularly the ones of water falls caused me lots of itching as a result of the sand flies eating me alive.

These seals were seen in and around Kaikoura on the East coast, many colonies are found around the South Island.

Waterfalls and lakes such as lake Hawea Are also seen all over the island.
