Alexandria

Known as “The Bride of the Mediterranean”, Alexandria (الإسكندريه) lies on the Mediterranean cost of Egypt and enjoys much milder weather than Cairo. In summer, Alexandria is cooler, and in winter it is wetter so cleaner. Alexandria is an ancient city built by Alexander the great. The whole modern city of Alexandria virtually sits on the ancient city of Alexandria, and therefore where ever they dig in Alexandria they find remains of the ancient city. Alexandria was occupied by Romans, Greeks, and even the British had their share. It is the second largest city in Egypt, and enjoys lots of visitors annually. Alexandria is the primary port in Egypt, there is also a lot of fishing, most boats in these photos on the coast are small fishing boats.
